16:9

This format is used for projecting film with a DVD player, 16:9 i tshe relationship between the projection and across the top. Also known as the Wide Screen. The aspect ratio for HDTV is 16:9 or 1.78:1. This means that for every 16 inches of horizontal screen, there are 9 inches of vertical screen, compared to the much squarer analogue TV ratio of 4:3 or 1.
