B-Y

One of the signs to distinguish the color that is used in PAL. It is obtained by subtracting the luminance signal (Y) of the signal blue (B). Luminance (Y) is Brightness Signal which carries information about the amount of light at each point in the image. A liquid crystal based display device may include an illumination source, a plurality of liquid crystal display panels for modulating red (R), green (G), and blue (B) lights respectively, and an optical system such as a projection lens for magnifying and projecting thus generated color image.
