Lumen/ ANSI Lumens

Unit that expresses the amount of light perceived (luminous flux). The brightness of the projector is measured by dividing the projected image into nine sections and finding the average number of lumens in the center of each.

Unfortunately the methods for calculating this measure are not the same by different manufacturers, so it is sometimes misleading to compare this to a projector with another.

Lumen:

The unit of measure of light output from a projector. Different manufacturers can classify the light output of projectors in different ways. The "Lumen peak measured illuminating an area of about 10% of the size of the screen in the center of it. This measurement ignores the reduction of brightness on the sides and corners of the screen.

The more conservative specification about "ANSI lumens" (American National Standards Institute - American National Standards Institute) is taken by dividing the screen into 9 blocks, taking a step in the center of each and averaging these measures. This number is usually 20-25% lower in the measurement of peak lumens.

Lumen/ANSI lumens:

Unit of measure for the lightness / brightness LCD projectors based on ANSI (American National Standards Institute). M2 in an area of a screen is divided into 9 rectangles of equal measure. The mathematical calculation of the intensity of light in the center of each area gives the value of the ANSI lumens.
