Picture in Picture (Picture in Picture, PIP)

There are two kinds of picture in picture: Models of 1 Tuner PIP require connecting to a VCR or other video component to provide the source for its second image. PIP 2 models have two tuners built-in TV tuners, so you can view two programs at once using only a TV.

Originally, PIP allowed to see multiple channels or sources through the creation of a small image insertion superimposed on the main picture. With the switch to wide screen format, this type of image insertion is being gradually replaced by designs of "split image" that is also called POP (picture out picture) or PAP (picture and picture).
